New York Association of School Psychologists, 2023
Dr. Jack A. Naglieri received the NYASP Legends Award, recognizing his decades of work advancing equitable and research-based assessment practices that help educators identify and support every learner’s potential.
Developed by Dr. Jack A. Naglieri and Drs. Dina Brulles and Kimberly Lansdowne, the Naglieri General Ability Tests (Verbal, Nonverbal, and Quantitative) measure thinking rather than knowledge. These assessments provide a fair approach to identifying gifted and advanced learners by minimizing language and cultural bias.
Created by Drs. Jack A. Naglieri and John Kelly, the MCARS helps school psychologists and counselors measure and document the impact of mandated counseling. This research-based tool offers a consistent framework for tracking student progress and outcomes.

At the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) 2022 Annual Convention, Dr. Naglieri introduced the Naglieri General Ability Tests (NGAT) alongside co-authors Drs. Dina Brulles and Kimberly Lansdowne. The sessions generated strong interest and enthusiasm among educators and psychologists for their innovative approach to identifying student potential.
